Bien sean ni\u00f1os peque\u00f1os que caen inadvertidamente en una charca, piscina o pozo; adolescentes nadando bajo la influencia del alcohol o las drogas; pasajeros de embarcaciones que zozobran; o residentes de comunidades costeras anegadas por inundaciones, el n\u00famero de v\u00edctimas que diariamente se cobra esta importante causa de mortalidad sigue aumentando silenciosamente.<\/p>\n<p>El\u00a0Informe mundial sobre ahogamientos\u00a0es el primer informe de la\u00a0Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud\u00a0dedicado exclusivamente al ahogamiento, un problema de salud p\u00fablica muy prevenible que nunca se ha abordado mediante un esfuerzo mundial estrat\u00e9gico de prevenci\u00f3n. El presente informe procura cambiar esa situaci\u00f3n.
